I am going through my first aid course again...
Boy, it is sure damm boring but I have to SAVE life...
Haha...me a first aider?? Lolz...
Now i have to study for my first aid test on fri...
So many things to remember but te steps are logical...
But WHO on earth thinks logically in time of a emergency???
Do u think i am suppose to remember that i have to check the breathing first b4 the pulse?
Or is it the pulse b4 the breathing?? *Oops*
I forgot.... * flips through the notes*
Yaya, it is check breathing b4 the pulse...
wait a min... It is actually check airway b4 any of these...
I think i am confusing all...
Let's go back from the start...
First u go to the accident scene,
check for danger * scans*
No danger, so approach the victim.
Secondly, check for response from victim.
Tap on the shoulders, " sir/mam, r u ok?"
No response, so ask by-passer to call ambulance...
`This is juz in case some idiot decides to lie all over the place after having a great time drinking`
Thirdly, check for airway.
Open mouth n check for foreign objects. If nt, proceed wif 2 blows.
Give 1 blow. If chest nvr rise, re-position and give 2 blows.
If chest still nvr rise, *suspects of chocking*
So, give 15 compressions.
Thn, do the open mouth check. *foreign object present*
Do finger swipe to remove it.
Thn give 2 blows. Chest rises.
Thn do circulation check. So must head tilt- chin lift.
So check pulse. No pulse.
Commence CPR. Give 15compressions n 2 blows. This is one cycle.
Do 4 cycles in a min.
Thn, check 4 pulse.
Pulse present. So check breathing.
No breathing. Start rescue breathing.
Give 12 blows. * i am out of breath by now*
Check 4 pulse again. ( still in CPR mod, so muz still check for pulse).
Thn check for breathing through Look, Listen, Feel [LLF].
Breathing present.
Thn check 4 injuries.
Lastly, recovery position...*phew*
*Oops* a error in my step.
After opening airway ( tongue-jaw lift), i am suppose to check breathing.
Not give 2 blows immediately.
So tat means, it wld be LLF(breathing) rite after airway.
Whn no breathing, thn proceed wif 2 blows.
Thn it follows as said above.
